FAQ

When is the Orientation for Autumn session?
For Autumn session, Orientation will run from Monday 20 February – Friday 10 March 2017.

How do I register for sessions as part of Orientation?
Keep an eye on orientation.uts.edu.au, registration will open 3 January 2017. You will be directed to the Orientation registration page as the final step in your enrolment process.

Is the Orientation program compulsory?
In previous years, UTS has encouraged students to attend Orientation in order to familiarise themselves with the university and pick up tips for succeeding as a university student.

PLEASE NOTE – THE ORIENTATION PROGRAM IS FOR COMMENCING STUDENTS ONLY. Returning students should go to UTS Online or contact their school for more information about preparation work that you may need to do.

Is lunch provided every day?
Lunch is provided for each student on the day of their UTS Official Welcome – so be sure to register for one of these sessions so you don’t miss out! Light refreshments may be provided at some faculty sessions. UTS has a variety of food outlets which will be open throughout Orientation for purchase on days where lunch isn’t provided, or feel free to bring your own.

Where can I go if I have an enquiry about my course/changing subjects?
If you want to change subjects or withdraw from a subject, there are critical dates involved. First, go to www.uts.edu.au/current-students/managing-your-course. The Student Centre will also be open every day during Orientation (Building 10, Level 2, Jones St). So if you need enrolment advice or assistance, the friendly staff at the Student Centre will be more than happy to help you.

How do I know where different Orientation sessions are held?
Jump online to www.maps.uts.edu.au  to get a broad view of the campus. During Orientation we’ll be running campus tours so you can familiarise yourself with all the different facilities and buildings on campus. If you’re not sure where one of your sessions is, ask one of our friendly Peer Networkers (dressed in orange!) who will be more than happy to show you where to go.

I’m from a company and would like to have a stall at your O-Day, where can I get more information?
UTSActivate manage all of the stalls and social activities for Orientation. If you are interested in having a presence at the Clubs Day (O-Day), please visit www.activateuts.com.au/contact
